Our story
In 1998, a scientist, Martyn Shorten and former Nike shoe designer, Joe Skaja, discussed alternative methods to invent an improved cushioning technology over lunch. Deep in thought and into their burgers, they realized that the clam shell, dual hemisphere design of the cardboard burger wrapper was the key to superior cushioning. The brainstorming session resulted in the creation of SKYDEX.

In 1999, SKYDEX Technologies, Inc. was formed to focus on the athletic shoe industry. Today, the company develops attenuation technology for several vertical market fields. From shoes to marine gear to helmets, SKYDEX Technologies, Inc. has the right team of experts to develop products that protect things that matter.
