How is SKYDEX made?
SKYDEX is engineered to meet a variety of performance specifications. SKYDEX engineers work side-by-side with your company to get your product concept to market quickly. We conduct extensive research into every industry with which we are associated and gain a deep understanding of the industry standards. We then use that research to interact create a product with features and benefits that help increase your market share.
The scope of your project determines the type of manufacturing process.
Twin-sheet thermoforming
This process allows for production of SKYDEX in large quantities over a short period of time. Two sheets of plastic are heated and vacuum-formed over opposing molds. While still at a very high temperature, the molds are pressed together with incredible precision and the two pieces are chemically and permanently bonded.
Blow molding
Designed for the production of smaller and fewer pieces, resin is inserted into the top of a hopper where it is heated to a molten consistency. It is then pushed through a tube and blown into its final form.
